JAZZHERS Jr JAM

For students in grades 5-8.

No prior jazz experience necessary 

Lisa Linde, director of the Newton South HS Jazz Ensemble, will work with students to explore jazz form, phrasing , articulation and phrasing.

JAZZHERS JAM

Work with Christine Fawson, who most recently conducted the All State Jazz Ensemble. 

Students will work with each other in groups based on experience and ability. The Oliver Ames Jazz Ensemble will also recieve a clinic. At the end of the OA clinic - both the jazzhers members and OA members will have a jam session and Q&Q with Christine Fawson.

Join us for weekly rehearsal where you will learn to compose, gain confidence improvising and playing in a small group setting. Rehearsals are held weekly at Newton South and culminate in a final performance at University of Rhode Island with saxohponist Courtney Wright
