Una Davenport
Una Davenport is a South Shore native from Hanover, Massachusetts, with a degree in music education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As an instrumental music teacher, Una has worked with students across the K-12 grade levels and currently serves as a band director at Stoughton High School. She is also the director of the middle school jazz ensemble in her district
Mairead Leahy
Mairéad Leahy is a local saxophone player and is currently student teaching while finishing her Masters in Music Education at Boston University. She is a 2016 graduate of UMass Amherst with a Bachelor’s Degree with Individual Concentration in Music Management. There, she studied saxophone with Lynn Klock and Jonathan Hulting-Cohen.
From 2013 to 2019, she served in the 215th Army National Guard Band in Fall River, MA and later the 36th Infantry Division Army National Guard Band in Austin, TX. She lived in Zama, Japan from 2017 – 2020, where she started a community theatre group and began her teaching career as a substitute teacher in the DODEA schools. Since 2020, she has been back home in Massachusetts working at Boston University in administrative and grants related roles. She is excited to see how this experience transfers as she transitions back into a music classroom.
She lives with her partner and three cats in Rockland, MA.
Kathryn Mackintosh
Kathryn is a higher education professional with a focus on advancement and partnership-building and a passion for advancing girls and women. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and earned her M.B.A. at Boston College. Music education was formative in her growth as a student, leader and engaged community member. She credits her youth ensemble experience (orchestra, band, wind ensemble, chamber music, pit band and marching band - but never jazz band!) with her lifelong appreciation of music and her skills as an active listener. Instruments played in her house (not by her, but by her husband and 3 kids) include: piano, viola, trombone, sax, clarinet, flute, tin whistle, accordion, harmonica, ukulele, guitar and voice.
